Zahid Tractors and Heavy Machinery Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Faculty of Engineering in Rabigh, on Sunday 16 November 2025.
The MoU aims to enable both parties to achieve their shared objectives through a joint action plan covering education, scientific research, training, and the development and cultural programs agreed upon by the two sides, ensuring that all targeted outcomes are achieved efficiently and effectively.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Zahid Tractors and Heavy Machinery Company by the company’s Human Resources Director, Mr. Amr Wafa Zawawi, while the Faculty of Engineering in Rabigh was represented by its Dean, Dr. Alaa bin Mohammed Ali Attar.
The memorandum outlines the provision of cooperative training opportunities for university students to prepare them for the labor market, in addition to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation at the University by supporting student initiatives aimed at developing creative solutions to engineering challenges. It also includes offering logistical support for relevant graduation projects, such as the Graduation Projects Exhibition and the Innovation and Creativity Exhibition.
Furthermore, the MoU seeks to organize innovation-focused competitions and events, such as student forums and gatherings addressing engineering challenges, targeting both university students and the local community. It also aims to develop research-based graduation projects by establishing a joint incubator for innovative ideas, enabling students to transform their concepts into marketable commercial products, and providing the necessary technical and administrative support to help achieve this.
The memorandum also frames collaboration in developing and updating curricula and academic programs-whether professional programs or specialized short courses-in project management and environmental engineering, with an emphasis on community service and enhancing project efficiency. It further aims to strengthen knowledge exchange between experts from Zahid Tractors and Heavy Machinery and university students, and to offer training courses and workshops on the latest technologies in engineering machinery and project execution, in collaboration with the company, for both students and faculty members.
Finally, the MoU includes organizing field visits for university students to Zahid Tractors and Heavy Machinery Company, allowing them to learn about the latest engineering projects and gain exposure to current industry practices.
